Our Workshops
We’ve been making kitchens (bedroom, office and free-standing furniture) in our workshops in Cornwall since 1978.
Manufacturing technology has changed significantly over the last 45 years, but our eye for detail and dedication to producing high-quality cabinetry remains our key focus.
Our workshops combine traditional craftsmanship with the latest innovations in precision machinery.
We’re dedicated to producing the finest kitchens at the best possible price, combined with excellent design and unrivalled service.
Truly bespoke
Each kitchen is carefully planned and made as a single job, never from ready-made components. All our work is produced in-house. We use traditional joinery methods, from constructing five-piece solid wood doors to comb-jointing wooden drawers. We utilise the latest machinery when styles of kitchen call for precision machining on inert board materials for clean lines and a contemporary look.
It’s our manufacturing expertise that enables our designers and customers to expand the possibilities in kitchen design.
Our Craftsmen
We’re particularly proud of our craftsmen. They have years of experience, and each brings their own unique skill to our kitchens. Whether machining or hand finishing, their attention to detail matters when producing a high-quality bespoke kitchen. They work as a team, and each will be part of the kitchen’s progress through our workshops.
Any colour
We also have our own onsite spray and painting workshop where we match any colour possible. Sometimes, a customer will bring us a swatch they love, and we’ll carefully match it. We work with all the leading paint manufacturers like Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Crown. Our paint finishes are highly durable and will last and maintain their colour for many years.
Our Team
Our craftsmen work under the watchful eye of Josh Bartley, pictured below. Josh works with our project managers and designers to ensure every part of a project completes at the right time and precisely to our customer’s requirements.
Josh Bartley
Workshops Supervisor
In 2011, Josh was an apprentice cabinet maker for Treyone, where he honed his craft for five years. He then worked for a specialist Acrylics company before joining Princess Yachts, where he tackled everything from teak flooring to cabinet making for cabins. Josh returned to Treyone in 2019 as a finisher but is now our Workshop Supervisor, ensuring projects run smoothly and on time. He’s naturally calm and level-headed, which suits this role when critical deadlines must be met.
Steve Perry
Cabinet Maker
Steve joined Treyone in 2015. An experienced kitchen maker with all-around knowledge of the processes of turning sheet materials and hardwoods into kitchen cupboards, he is also our relief sprayer.
Richard Field
Cabinet Maker
Richard makes up one of three father/son combos at Treyone. He came to the company in 2014 with practical and technical skills, quickly proving himself invaluable within the cabinet making team.
Simon ‘Spike’ Graves
Wood Machinist
Starting at Treyone in 2005, Simon joined us as a relatively inexperienced newcomer to the industry. Keen to learn the various trades, Simon is now a versatile all-rounder who, having worked for several years with sheet materials in our cabinet-making workshop, has now made his mark in timber machining and assembly.
Ian Woodhouse
Senior Wood Machinist
Ian is our senior wood machinist. He initially joined Treyone as an apprentice on his 16th birthday in 1982. He left the company over a decade later, spent 12 years in the building trade and returned to us in 2010 to run our machine workshop.
Neil Cooper
Delivery & Maintenance
With a long-standing career in the building trade, Neil started with Treyone in April 2017. He ensures all Treyone deliveries get to customers on time and in an orderly, friendly manner as well as helping out in the workshop.
Joe Webb
Sprayer
Joe’s first role was as a machinist working for the prestigious Hawker Joinery in Bath. After this, he ran a joinery business in Cornwall, producing everything from bespoke staircases to windows and doors. He joined the Treyone team in 2022 as a Sprayer. This role is all about creating beautiful finishes and attention to detail – something he is passionate about. When not working at Treyone, Joe loves learning and has just completed an Astronomy and Planetary Science degree and plans to do a Masters in Finance.
Aran Pridham
Wood Machinist
Originally from Reading, Aran moved to Cornwall with his family when he was 11. After completing his Level 3 Site Carpentry qualification at college, he joined Treyone in 2012 as an apprentice Machinist. He works on various aspects of a kitchen, creating items like drawer boxes, doors and cornices. In his spare time, he explores the Cornish off-road trails on his bicycle.
Steve Evans
Finisher
Steve came to Treyone in 2000 and trained as a spray painter. With a wealth of experience in all the technicalities of paint and clear lacquer finishes, he works with Joe Webb to prepare and finish our cabinets, doors, mouldings and shelving.
Aaron England
Cabinet Maker
Aaron started his career in catering and was then a Buying Assistant for Trago Mills. He soon realised that a desk job wasn’t for him. Aaron loves making and building things and using his hands, so applied for a position at Treyone. “Every day is different, and I love the variety of work and being shown how to make things by the other cabinet makers and machinists,” he says. Outside work, he enjoys cooking and keeping busy with other practical and hands-on projects.
Gary Watson
Prototype Development & Installer.
Gary started his career as a machinist for a Plymouth-based kitchen company and first worked for Treyone in 1993. He then worked as a Bench Joiner and a freelance kitchen installer for many years before returning full-time to Treyone in 2022. Gary specialises in creating unique, often one-off production solutions and prototypes that enhance and improve our kitchens. Having Gary in-house allows our designers to push the envelope of kitchen design. He also visits customers’ kitchens for remedial work and completes smaller installations. Outside of work, he loves restoring vintage cars – not for shows – but for driving!
